Ho shit, its' been like 4 months since I did anything on my blog! Nevertheless I'm back with a brand new PC and will update this place more occasionally (*hopefully). Anyway just a little update on what's been going on within my miseable excuse of a life.
Just came back from Sepang, KL for the Merdeka Millienium Endurance Race - 12 hours of my life wasted doing nothing in a godforsaken place watching banged-up M'sian Satrias go head to head against our boys with their expensive toys (think Evo/Rex). The race was a bore, but what transpired after that definitely raised my eyebrows. Due to some unforseen shit happening, the race-team I was supposed to follow back to S'pore made their way to another rival team's pit (another S'pore team - with some Viet influences) and started to rip the place up. Curious onlookers gathered around the area, and within minutes my race team came out (all 20-plus of them) looking suitably satisfied.
Good! I thought everything's settled! I can finally go home! But NOOO!...security came in, "Polis" followed as well. And soon the place turned into a CSI gathering. The "Polis" brought in my whole race team for questioning. The same bunch of curious onlookers started gathering outside the pit area, murmuring "Singaporeans creating problems here?" or something along those lines. Suddenly they started getting rowdy, voicing their displeasure (*I have no freaking idea whats wrong with this people) Then it started, some punk said the Evo parked outside must be a Singapore car, then almost everyone started taking a pot shot at the car. Off came the carbon-fiber front lip, stomped on repeatedly till the rivets came way. After that a barrage of carefully calculated kicks to the car front and body. Luckily I guess the CF GT-wing spoiler was pretty well mounted, it withstood valiant attempts to reposition it.
A short little prick took the CF-front lip and promptly threw it onto the pathway of a lorry, where sadly it was run over and broken into at least 3 pieces. While they were dismantling the Evo, I backed off slowly, not wanting to get caught in this lynch mob of anti-S'porean haters - just in case they thought I was one of them. I was desperate, I ain't gonna stay there and wait to be torn to shreds, so I hitch-hiked my way to KL-International Airport. (Many thanks Clive - Sponsor for the Porsche GT3 team for giving this Editor a lift to the airport and saving my ass back there.) At the airport, I waited for another 3 hours (sleeping on chairs/ burger king sofas feeling like Tom Hanks in that stupid airport movie) before I bought the first shuttle ticket back home to Singapore.
